30 years of the Internet – madness as time passes – only last year alphasystems celebrated its 30th anniversary. The topic of the Internet actually only really started in Germany around 1994. As a company, we immediately got to grips with the subject at that time, as we were already of the opinion that it would not just be a trend that would pass. Our own first website was launched in 1995… and from today’s point of view has of course the charm of the 90s… 😉 (see picture).
In 1994 we started – because the product category did not exist yet, let alone finished products – to develop a web “editorial system” for the PC world and MAC world for the IDG publishing house. The editors should be able to write as with Word (at that time still under DOS), without having to think about the “difficult programming language” HTML…
Since that time we have been intensively dealing with content management and all other topics related to the Internet, such as digitization with browser-based solutions. It is exciting to be able to deal again and again with the new topics, which have flowed into us in the last 30 years and which we always take up for our customers and develop further… be it App-Development, IoT, digitalization, disruptive business models, BI, Big Data, Blockchain or whatever else will roll towards us in the next years… we are looking forward to it!
